Win Win Way Out

So my little rug fixation continues... For those of you who know me... you know those can last... Remember balloons? (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) ;) I'm actually about to finish on the subject. With Antonio Santin and his "Win Win Way out":

So in opposition to those rugs that look like paintings, today I am going to show you paintings that look like rugs!  Yup. You read it right. This actually is oil on canvas. If you have trouble to believe me check on them hanging in a Marc Straus gallery:

Antonio Santin is a Spanish born that lives and works in New York. Artist's technique gets compered with chiaroscuro(a use of strong contrast between light and dark to achieve three dimensional objects and figures)  popular in the 17th century. "Santin constructs eerie, arresting compositions that simultaneously attract and unsettle in their evocative depictions of sublimated desire." If you are not unsettled by the images itself you can always check the titles on them... Like "Tinder Trap":

    Or "Been There Done That"

There's a couple more images below... and if you feel you want more there's always Artist's Instagram profile! A lot of zooms on the detailing there... it's mindblowing!
